The books we’re loving: # 1.

Hello Friends,

You’ll notice above that I’ve made this a sort of series. My hope is to regularly share with you the books we are loving in our home.

In this collection, I’m going to focus on our current favorite children’s books, as we’ve been devouring quite a lot of them with the colder weather moving in.

For reference, my boys are three and one years old. My three-year-old seems to be able to handle books that I would have thought a bit above his level, so you’ll find the books below for toddlers, but also some that older ages would thoroughly enjoy!

Let’s dive in:

#1: The Circus Ship

This one I must share first, because we renewed our copy from the library as many times as we could. It is worth having your own copy, in my opinion, and may appear under the tree at Christmas.

#2: The Bear Snores On

This has been loved for many months, and we’re now discovering the entire collection by this author. The rhyming stories make it enjoyable to read as parents and are adored by our kiddos.

#3: A Visitor for Bear

This one is lovely, and Everett found it quite silly. There are others in this series as well, and we are happily making our way through them!

#4: Madeline

This one somehow gained the name of “the poo-poo book” because of the line about the tiger in the zoo. Boys will be boys. But it is one of our most requested right now!

#5: The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear

A classic that both of our boys thoroughly enjoy right now.

#6: Baby Bear Sees Blue

This is a simple color book, but one that Everett adores! We’ve also discovered Baby Bear Counts One and both have been read on repeat lately!

#7: Wishy Washy

This one has been loved for over a year now. The watercolor illustrations and rhyming words make it so enjoyable, and Everett’s favorite part is the little surprise on the last page.

#8: Our Very Little Library

I must mention this one because somehow, every child who sees these books falls in love with them. They are simple books that fit perfectly in a toddler’s hands, and I think that must be what they love most about them. They would be a very wise option for Christmas!

That’s all for this time, but please - I’d love to know what you and your kiddos are loving! Share your favorite books in the comments, please, so we can also enjoy them!

If you enjoy book lists such as this, keep an eye out! I’ll certainly be back with more!
