Some of the loudest voices of this world are always telling us that we as women are something of great strength.
They tell us that we possess within ourselves something that can influence and radically alter the ways of our world.
I’m inclined to agree with them, although i’m quite convinced that what this strength is made up of may not quite be what the majority of the world claims it to be.
Strong women are those who won’t crumble under the weight of another’s opinion, or be caught in the chase for perfectionism. They are those who know in the very depths of their hearts to whom they belong and the truth of who they are - chosen and loved by a perfect, loving God.
Strong women aren’t caught up in the awful game of comparison, but can wildly shout for joy at the success of each friend, knowing well that there is ten thousand times more beauty in a heart full of joy than a coveting eye.
Strong women give up the futile pursuit of attracting the masses and building their own stage and rather focus in on the sphere of influence that God has given to them, even if the world may give it the title of mundane.
You see, strong women are creative women, though often they don’t recognize it in themselves. They work the wonder of changing ordinary days into something of purpose and rise above what is trivial to bring meaning to each of their moments. They seek to create an atmosphere of heaven’s beauty wherever they are placed.
Strong women aren’t intimidated by the presence of real masculinity, but rather applaud it, knowing that all humanity is created of equal value, but with different roles to be filled. They understand that the advance of the Kingdom will only come through each of us fulfilling the specific roles that we were created for, and rather than seeking to diminish masculinity or even themselves, they recognize that they will always find the most freedom when they spur each other onward in the calling we have been given.
Strong women excel at the art of gentle and quiet influence, being those who are quick to pray and slow to speak. They let a God of grander ways work miracles within their midst without falling for the bait to try instead to manipulate.
Strong women are in the habit of pausing to look at the grander view - the overall masterpiece that they get to play a part in. They learn each day to be diligent in the areas that matter for eternity and to let every other battle slide right by.
Strong women are those who fail every single day. They are those that know well within their hearts that there is a desperate need of grace, and so they learn to receive it, as well as to give it away.
Strong women don’t rely upon their own human strength, but give themselves over to a God who holds unfailing strength in His own possession.
And so you can see that it is true what they say - women have the potential to be world-changers, just like the rest of the human race.
But I’ve grown to see that you will never find these world changing women scheming with others on how to make their voices made louder in this world, or parading their “virtues” throughout the streets, making nothing more than a clashing noise.
You’ll never find them pulling down another in hopes of elevating themselves, but rather rallying around each other to elevate the other.
You’ll recognize these world changing women by the grace that they will always give, the unfading glimmer of hope in their eye, and the pure and holy devotion that they give to loving this world well.
These are the women who are doing the very best kind of work of changing the whole world. Will you stand among them?
