The Life of a Dreamer

I am a dreamer. I love seeing big things happen and being a part of something exciting. I love making plans and wondering what will happen next in life. I want to go places and do things that are full of adventure and excitement.

For instance, right now just a few ideas/plans brewing in my head....

....A family road trip out east full of exciting stops and loads of fun.

....A few months back in CO seeking more of Jesus at one of my favorite places on earth.

.....A trip back to Germany to see a new Church being started and build some relationships with fellow Christians across the world.

.....A trip to Indonesia to spend time with some of my favorite people in the world and see a glimpse into their life over there.

And folks, thats just the thoughts for the next year or so.....

Being a dreamer, well, it's a whole lot of fun. Especially when you get to see those dreams come true. But there can be problems for a dreamer, particularly this dreamer here. One of this girls biggest problems is that when I get an idea into my head I'm ready- ready to go, ready to plan, ready to book a flight or contact the right person. I want to jump in right away and well, sometimes that means I get in over my head and can tend to try and force things to happen before they're supposed to happen.

The truth is I have a sad lack of patience, friends. The result is that often I tend to be living in tomorrows great plans instead of todays beautiful moments. I tend to live life waiting until I can do the next thing or start pursuing the next dream rather then waiting for God to unfold His perfect plan in His perfect timing.

One thing my always patient Savior has been showing me is that it's not the dreaming thats a problem. God loves to use people who are ready and willing to go but it's the one who ultimately has control of the dreams that matters.

We as humans down on this earth are capable of so little. Think about it. What can we really control on our own. Nothing. We can't even guess what tomorrow may bring. But we have a Jesus that cares so much about our lives and holds each day in His hand. He has control over every detail, even the smallest. Why would we try to force things to happen in our own weak attempts when we can simply trust the one who knows each detail and cares more about our future than even we do.

Dreams are beautiful but dreams must be surrendered. God gives us the dreams and when we give them back to Him He takes them and does things far better than even our wildest dreams. He holds it all in His hands and knows the perfect way to accomplish His will.

So for all of my friends out there that love to dream big and have plans they're nearly bursting to see unfold, be patient my friends and give it all to the one who sees far beyond our tomorrows. The one who places those dreams in your heart is able to accomplish them in His perfect time and in His perfect way.
